Oprah has been secretly working with Starbucks and Teavana to develop a tea blend called Oprah's Chai Tea. It will be available at participating Starbucks and Teavana retail stores in late April, and supports youth education.
Howard Shultz, chairman, president and CEO of Starbucks announced today that Oprah Chai Tea will be sold in the U.S. and Canada, and for each drink sold a donation will be made to the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy Foundation.
Winfrey and leading teaologist Naoko Tsunoda jointly developed the tea, which has infusions of cinnamon, ginger, cardamom and cloves, and a black tea and rooibos base.
"I looove tea," said Winfrey. "My daily tea ritual is a vital part of my morning. Savory and spicy chai, with its deep flavor, has long been a favorite of mine."
Oprah Chai will be available in stores on April 29 (just in time for Mother's Day), and comes with a free car.
