Seattle is a top destination for "beer tourism"

Seattle. We are known for a few things including rain, coffee, and passive aggressive drivers - but now we are putting Seattle on the map for one of our favorite things. Craft beer!

Seattle came in the number three spot out of the Top 20 best “beer tourism destinations.” Beer tourism? I like the sound of that. Travelocity released their first-ever Beer Tourism index with the help of the Brewers Association, a national association dedicated to promoting American craft brewers (also thank goodness for this group of people dedicated to promoting American craft brewers). Maybe the reason Seattle traffic is so bad is because tourists from all over are coming to drink our beer! I might be on to something with this...

The Beer Tourism Index looked at the essentials of a perfect “beercation.” Who doesn't need one of those! They factored in the availability of ride share services, accessibility via air and the average cost of lodging.

Curious as to who joins us on said list??

  1. Portland/Beaverton/Vancouver, Oregon.
  2. Denver/Aurora, Colorado.
  3. Seattle/Tacoma/Bellevue
  4. Portland, Maine
  5. Colorado Springs, Colorado
  6. Santa Rosa/Petaluma, California
  7. Spokane, Washington
  8. San Diego, California
  9. Madison, Wisconsin
  10. Albuquerque, New Mexico

So cheers to that! Now you deserve a cold one.
