Cocktail of the Week: Whiskey Buck

Kelly Sparks of Queen Bee Mixology is graciously sharing a new cocktail with us every week, just in time for Happy Hour. Fun Fact: A Buck is a drink that involves ginger! This invigorating combination of whiskey and Queen Bee's homemade ginger syrup is fabulous, but be forewarned - this Buck has a bit of a kick, which - in our opinion - is the perfect way to end any evening.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz. whiskey
  • 1 tablespoon ginger syrup
  • Fresh lime juice

Directions

  1. Slice 1 ginger root into wheels
  2. Add 1 cup sugar and 1 cup hot water to pot
  3. Bring to a boil until water thickens into a syrup
  4. Pour contents into a french press coffee maker and press down on ginger pieces
  5. Pour resulting liquid into a jar
  6. Put into fridge to cool
  7. Combine ingredients into a glass
  8. Add high ball ice to glass
  9. Add juice of 1/2 lime, freshly squeezed
  10. Add 1 oz whiskey
  11. Add 1 tbsp ginger syrup
  12. Stir to combine garnish with lime wedge and candied ginger
  13. Enjoy!
