Cocktail of the Week: The Outlaw

Kelly Sparks of Queen Bee Mixology is graciously sharing a new cocktail with us every week, just in time for Happy Hour. This wild cocktail comes from a bar in Texas that Queen Bee found on one of her adventures. Where else would you find a drink named The Outlaw? This drink will have you hollering "yee-haw" with its punchy flavors and rebellious flare.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 oz. Cognac
  • 1oz Champagne simple syrup
  • .5 oz Fresh grapefruit juice
  • .5 oz Fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cup Champagne
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • Orange peel (garnish)

HOW TO MAKE IT:

  1. Mixed 1 cup of champagne with 1 cup of sugar and bring to a boil
  2. Once sugar is dissolved, take off heat and set aside
  3. In shaker, add .5 oz fresh squeezed grapefruit juice, .5 oz fresh squeezed lemon juice, 2 oz Cognac, 1 oz Champagne simple syrup
  4. Add ice and shake
  5. Pour into serving glass
  6. Garnish with orange peel
  7. Enjoy!
