Joli. This new French/Italian restaurant just opened their doors in the Ballard/Phinney area! The cuisine is inspired by the French-Italian Riviera and will have a "light and fun, vegetable-centric" menu, according to My Ballard.

618 NW 65th Street at 7th Avenue

Kamonegi. The highly anticipated soba restaurant opened their doors on Friday, October 13 in the Fremont neighborhood. According to Eater, Kamonegi is one of the few U.S. restaurants to showcase handmade soba noodles.

Ramen Danbo. This international Ramen chain is opening their FIRST U.S. location in our very own Capitol Hill neighborhood! According to Eater, Danbo launched back in 2000 and now has 30 locations across Japan, Australia, and British Columbia. They specialize in tonkotsu broth. Stay tuned!

Chavez and Mercato Stellina. The two local faves are teaming up to make a dual-restaurant concept that will open up in Pike Place Market this November. It will be a combination of the two, refined, authentic Mexican with pastas and pizza.

Seattle Chocolate. Seattle Chocolate is opening a brand new store at Concourse C at Sea-Tac Airport! If you need to your chocolate fix at the airport, you are in luuuuuck!

Rider. Rider just opened it's doors downtown at 7th and Pine. Rider is a mix of the sea and the forest. The menu will include fresh seafood, dry aged meats, artisan cheeses, seasonal veggies and more!

Cortina. Ethan Stowell is opening up an Italian restaurant in downtown Seattle at 621 Union St. Cortina is slated to open in either January or February according to Eater.

Baron’s Xi’an Kitchen and Bar. This new traditional Chinese restaurant recently opened as part of the new Lincoln Square expansion according to the Downtown Bellevue Network. Menu includes dishes like Drunken Chicken with Shaoxing Slush, Shanghai Pork Buns, Hot and Sour Seafood Soup, and mushroom fried rice.

Gather Kitchen + Bar. The new restaurant menu will focus on both medium size plates and tapas with Spanish, French, Italian, and Latin influences!

Duke's Seafood and Chowder. The Seattle staple just opened up in Bellevue's Lincoln Square expansion! The restaurant menu offers the same items as the every other location with favorites like clam chowder, fish and chips, seafood tacos and grass-fed burgers.

Woods Coffee. This Bellingham original coffee shop (kinda biased because I'm from the good ole ham) just opened up their second location in downtown Bellevue in the Lincoln Square expansion, according to downtownbellevue.com. They've got great coffee and delicious snacks! Take it from a Bellingham native ;)

SPiN. Seattlemag reports that there is a new ping pong bar is coming to Seattle! They are opening up a 10,000 square foot place in the Decatur Building on Sixth Avenue and Pine Street. The bar is open to all ages until night time but will feature 12 reservable Olympic size ping-pong tables.

Closings

Cafe Racer. Cafe Racer, the beloved coffee house and bar in Roosevelt, closed their doors last month. The owner announced that he's selling the cafe because he can no longer support it, according to patch.com. Cafe Racer was also the target of a shooting back in 2012, resulting in the death of four people.

Kushibar. The Belltown restaurant recently closed their doors because of a lease issue reported The Stranger. Kushibar had operated in Seattle for nine years.

Bar Abajo and The Upstairs. Two Belltown bars are closing due to losing their lease on December 10 reports Eater. Bar Abajo is working on a place to rehome after opening last July. The Upstairs will be permantely closed.

Kickin' Boot. This Ballard BBQ joint has closed their doors after five years of servin' up food and booze. MyBallard.com reports that they were closed "due to many obstacles."

99 Park. This upscale Bellevue restaurant that focused on Pacific Northwest ingredients has close their doors permanently reports Eater. 99 Park cited that the building it was located in had plans of redevelopment so they got the boot.
