We’ve seen the big billboards in Pacific Place, but now Din Tai Fung is slated to open a THIRD location in Southcenter! No specifics are solidified, but the Southcenter is expecting a spring opening. (Image: Seattle Refined).

Open & Shut: This week in restaurant openings and closings


Derby at The Shop
We decided to start with this one because Derby at The Shop is a BRAND NEW restaurant from our fav, Ethan and Angela Stowell! WOOHOOO! We sure do love this fella. Derby's, located in SoDo, will have a menu of American classics like, BLT, Cobb salad, and burgers. There will also be seafood dishes, pastas, and other entrees.

Belltown Brewing
One door closes, another one opens! Literally. The Belltown staple, Bell + Whete closed up shop in December, but is opening up a brewery! Belltown Brewery is having their grand opening on March 17th.

The Runaway at Neumos
Neumos quietly closed down their bar, Moe Bar, and are opening a new place called, The Runaway. The Runaway & Neumos Grand Reopening will happen on March 8th from 6-11pm. The new drink programs will feature 6-8 signature cocktails and an additional two on tap. Other beverage options include 16 taps offering a selection of beer, cider, and wine with a full back bar.

Rhein Haus Tacoma
The popular Capitol Hill bar and eatery has opened a second location in Tacoma! Rhein Haus is an independent, Bavarian-inspired restaurant that features four bocce ball courts, floor-to-ceiling windows with views of Wright Park, and a large outdoor patio. Rhein Haus serves dinner, lunch, weekend brunch and daily happy hour and late night menus. If you are a fan of the Rhein Haus on the Hill, you’ll be very pleased with it’s second location in Tacoma.

Pressed Juicery
Pressed Juicery just opened their second location in Queen Anne! Pressed is a leading cold-pressed juice brand with over 50 locations nationwide. There are cold-pressed juices, signature beverages, a fro-yo (that’s actually fro-juice) and tons of toppings! The first Seattle location is located in Westlake Center.

Big Mario Pizza
Big Mario’s Pizza is bringing their popular New York style Pizza to a third location in Frelard! They plan to start serving up their pies early this month. Big Mario’s is taking over the late Bourbon & Bones located on Leary Way.

Cherry Street Public House
This new café opened up and serves beer and wine with a seasonal rotating menu of breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and weekend brunch!

Café Hitchcock
Aiming for a spring opening, Café Hitchcock is the latest endeavor from Chef Brendon McGill. The Café will be an all-day café serving breakfast, lunch, happy hour, and dinner! Café Hitchcock will be on the ground floor of the Exchange Building that was built in 1930, located between downtown and Pioneer Square.

Rachel’s Ginger Beer
One of our favorite places is opening a THIRD location in June! The third joint will be opening up in U-Village.

Din Tai Fung
We’ve heard that it's coming for what feels like ages, but now we know officially - it's OPEN IN PACIFIC PLACE. That's right, if you're reading this - you could be eating dumplings on the top floor of Pacific Place right now, in the the third Din Tai Fung location.

Chef Brendan McGill of Hitchcock has converted his popular Neapolitan pizza pop up to a real life, brick-and-mortar restaurant on Bainbridge Island!

Tavern 12
The Residence Inn Seattle, in the U-District just opened it’s new dining concept called Tavern 12 and has pub-inspired fare, a casual atmosphere, and freshly sourced ingredients.

Paseo Capitol Hill
You know it, you love it. The Capitol Hill location of Paseo opened in early February!


Ernest Loves Agnes
One of our favorite pizza places closed down in February and we are very sad about it. However, Ernest Loves Agnes was replaced by Chef Brian Clevenger who opened up Contadino Pizzeria and the location is back in action!

Bourbon & Bones
Bourbon & Bones AND Ernest Loves Agnes?!?! SAD DAY! There hasn’t been any information as to why Bourbon & Bones closed up shop, but we will keep ya updated.
