Local eatery hosts fundraiser for their struggling delivery driver

We are, obviously, huge fans of our local foodie scene but these kinds of things make us fall more in love with Seattle’s restaurant community.

A local delivery driver for Elliot Bay Distributing, Lamar Whitfield, was recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of lymphoma. As Whitfield undergoes chemotherapy treatments, he is unable to work. When the Ethan Stowell community heard this news, they decided to do what they do best to raise money for the man…with food! Of course.

Cue, the evening of Tuesday, May 30th. Stowell’s Marine Hardware, Elliot Bay Distributing, and Stoup Brewing are putting on a fundraiser with special menu items where proceeds will go towards Whitfield’s illness expenses.

The event will run from 6-10 p.m. and will be hosted at Marine Hardware, which if you haven't been yet - it's a must! Great food and cocktails. The menu includes delicious items with a pretty great price tag! Here's the menu items:

  • Chips with guacamole and salsa – $6
  • Ceviche – $8
  • Tacos (Crispy Halibut, Cochinita Pibil, Charred Chicken) – $3 each
  • Flan with Churro Chunks – $4
  • Margaritas – $6
  • Rosé – $6
  • Stoup Pilsner – $4

Along with this, there will also be a raffle with prizes like restaurant gift cards and summer beverages!

So, here are your dinner ressies for May 30th! As Seattle’s restaurant community is always delivering amazing food, service, and comfort for us – we should pay it back and help a struggling member of the restaurant community.
