Looking for a sweet warm drink to get you through a long cold day, then look no further. The Hot Buttered Rum cocktail will tickle your sweet tooth and warm your belly all at the same time. Adding cinnamon and nutmeg enhances the essence of the season.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 lb butter
  • 1 lb brown sugar
  • 1 lb powdered sugar
  • 1 quart vanilla ice cream, softened
  • 1 Tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 oz dark rum
  • Whipped cream
  • Cinnamon sticks to garnish

HOW TO MAKE IT

  1. Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Blend in brown sugar and powdered sugar.
  3. Remove from heat, and whisk in the ice cream, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  4. Pour mixture into a plastic container, seal, and freeze.
  5. In a coffee mug, measure 1 tablespoon Hot Buttered Rum Batter and 1 fluid ounce of rum, then fill cup with boiling water.
  6. Stir, and sprinkle top of drink with nutmeg.
  7. Enjoy!
