Katsu Burger to open new location in Ballard (!)

Ballard! Get ready for Katsu Burger's fifth location opening this summer in the old Skillet location.

Fans of Katsu Burger will certainly line up for their deep-fried burger patties, nori fries and matcha green tea milkshakes but will also be pleasantly surprised to find the addition of bento, cocktails and a sushi bar.,

“We will have Sushi, Bento, and inspired Japanese Cocktails,” said Christopher Poetter, Media Director.

“Bento simply means 'Lunchbox.' So we are going to offer small plates combined with paired taste profiles including the first ever Katsu Sliders. Our sushi will be fun and fresh! We are hoping to create a fun neighborhood atmosphere where the whole family can come in and order what they want! Oishi!”

Katsu Burger is best known for serving up burgers made in the katsu method popular in Japan and Hawaii where beef, pork loin and tofu are breaded before being deep-fried. The chain also serves fries sprinkled with nori flakes, wasabi coleslaw, Japanese mayo and other spicy sauces. Kids dig this “Banzai Bites” which are similar to chicken nuggets but with a Katsu twist.

So why Ballard as their new location?

“Why wouldn't we! The community is so amazing. Our new spot is right next to the public Library which seems so active and family based! All the shops seem to be in tune in with the neighborhood and we can't wait to jump in and express what Katsu Burger is all about.”

Needless to say, Katsu Burger is excited to be joining the Ballard neighborhood and residents are excited for them to open soon. Katsu Burgers will be taking over the location recently vacated by Skillet Ballard, next to Parfait Ice Cream.

Katsu Burger's new location will also have a large private room for parties and large groups, ideal for birthday parties, family get togethers and business meetings. The restaurant will also feature a sushi bar where patrons can watch sushi chefs as they work.

Until the Ballard location opens, Katsu Burger can be found in Georgetown, Bellevue, Lynnwood and on Capitol Hill.
